Andrew Brown
- Born in Perth, Andrew began his interest in the visual Arts from a young age, drawing inspiration from illustrated encyclopaedias, nature & from his immediate gold mining environment in the Goldfields of Western Australia where he spent most of his childhood. In 1978, he enrolled in a water colour painting course held in Boulder by the artist Walter Terrell. His paintings were sold to local citizens and tourists, looking for representations of local landmarks such as goldmine headframes and rustic buildings. Many of the structures were being ‘progressively’ demolished as part of the expansion of open pit mining around the Kalgoorlie-Boulder area. . . . more
