Maryann Evetts lives and works in Perth, Western Australia. She has lived in Australia for 20 years and originally from New Zealand.
Maryann trained in art at the Central Metropolitan college of TAFE in Perth in the late 80's. She studied ceramics and worked as a potter for a number of years. She had a solo exhibition in ceramic sculpture in 1992 and won a several of awards for sculpture during that time.
fficult to form, much more so than clay. She likes the marks made by the grinders, which accentuate the movement of fish in the water. Maryann was snorkelling at Methams Pool in a large school of herring when and realised the potential of making them in steel.
Work commissioned and sold to Bayview Caravan Park in Coral Bay, Snow Gums Lodge at Falls Creek in Victoria, Port Kennedy Hotel and Clancy's Fish Pub in Fremantle Western Australia.
